Default just got back form the OBX striper tournament

hello everyone, I have returned from the OBX from the Wheels Reels striper showdown. Well, I arrived there friday night about midnight. I woke up at 3:30 that morning for work and drove down after work. I registered, got something to eat and went over to Hatteras Jack's tackle shop in Rodanthe. I figured I would get a good nights sleep so I could get a good days fishing in on saturday. I slept for like 2 hours and was too excited to sleep anymore. I met someone at the tackleshop and we hit several locations. we hit ramp 34, ramp 37, and Pea Island. I caught my fish (37.5" long, 15 lbs.) at about 10:30 AM at ramp 34. That was my first surf caught striper. I fished with a very experienced angler and I learned a lot about fishing that area. Not many fish were caught for a 232 person tournament, I think only like 25 or so people weighed in fish. But it was still a great time. They gave away some AWESOME door prizes.

On the way home I stopped at oregon inlet to talk to my friend Aaron Kelly, the captain of the Rocksolid he hooked a thresher shark that was too big to get in the boat right outside the inlet! He estimated it to be around 400lbs. Maybe I'll be going this weekend.
