Default Hello from SC

Hi everyone the names Chris and obviously I just joined the forums. I've lurked around for awhile but finally decided to join since this seems like an okay place to hang out. I've mostly fished inshore creeks and inlets around northeastern South Carolina and southeastern North Carolina since I was little but haven't had as much time the last few years being off at school and whatnot and it's driving me crazy. I'm starting to get back into the swing of things now and I can't believe what I've been missing. That's about it for now. Is there anyone else on here from my little corner of the world?

Nice to have ya aboard and welcome!

Look forward to seeing your reports and i think there are a few people from down your way. Been your way several times, but never had the opportunity to fish!

Hello Chris!
Nice to have you here with us.
I'm sure we have others here from your neck of the woods.
Perhaps they are lurking too..

What areas have you fished?
Techniques and bait?

As far as SC goes I usually stay in the stretch from North Myrtle Beach through Cherry Grove Inlet (nice flounder there btw) and on up to Little River Inlet. That area is right in my backyard so it's naturally convenient. Occasionally I'll go up to Dunn sound and Sunset Beach in NC to surf fish some. It's much quieter up there than NMB. I have family in and around the Jacksonville, FL area as well so whenever I'm down there I try to head down to Fernandina Beach to fish a little. Technique wise all I ever really do is fish from the piers or out in the surf. Never felt comfortable in a small kayak for some reason. I basically stick to laying something in the bottom for flounder or when the spot are running I'll cut up some squid. They love those. I always have a crab net in the water when I'm fishing. I've been known to eat my fair share of blue crabs now and then. One thing I haven't done much of if fish for channel bass (aka red drum) around here. I know they're out there but I've never had much luck in catching anything in slot. Other than that I'll take whatever comes up on the line regardless of whether or not I intend to keep it. It's like a stress relief for me when nothing else will do.

Sunset Beach? You fish on the ICW?
Or do you head out to Bird Island? Any good surf access on Bird Island?
Maybe some 4X4 on the sand?
