Great to have you here Paul - yes, Its got to be wonderful when you can turn your fishing trips from "time away from your family" to "quality time spent with the kids" - lot easier to go that way!

Welcome abord, I have 1 Son, he will be 21 soon and we have fished together all of his life. Both on the beach and our boat. It will only get better as your son ages. It kept him off drugs and close by, and of course his first vehicle had to be a GMC Z-71 so he could get on and off AI. beach. I Think that is part of the problem with kids today, not enough time with Dad. Just as you prepare to go fishing you have to prepare them for life. Have fun, it will be time well spent.

We went on a trip this summer out of Gloucester and here's his first cod...he was so proud (and tired) and I was proud of him too!

Thumbs up

Wow, that is a very cool picture. How did you guys catch it? I am unfamiliar with cod. That reel looks pretty serious.

Great catch!

We were using clams in about 180' of water! It took his arms a while to reel it in and a litte help from Dad! We were on a charter boat...we had won tickets from a local radio station and it was his first time fishing on the ocean.
