Sam's Anniversary

Hi All,
Had a couple nice days on the tog. The shake-down last Thursday and again Monday all were limited who wanted to be. Nice fish by the rail ~ swimming away. Things as they should be. Pretty steady.
Tuesday then, being exactly one year since Sam's state record fish, was to be a delight. Brand new batch of tags, calm seas, great bunch of folks - can't ask for much else.
Maybe a decent bite?
Couldn't have been anything else - gorgeous day.
Goose-egged on the first stop.
Second stop returned to the scene of the crime ~ where he caught the twenty pounder.
Those fish nosed baits around, slurped the mustard out of the crab ~ just fussy.
Did nick a few. Mostly 5 to 8 pounders. Couple 12s. Chris had one 14 1/2 lbs. - 27 inches.
Higher the expectation - harder the realization.
Fish, especially tog, don't always do as we'd like.
Especially when you have every intention of doing better than last year...
With that in mind, I'm opening up Thursday, Friday and Saturday - March 13, 14, 15 - 2008. Weather looks doable ~ Boat sells out at 15 people for tog ~ green crabs provided ~ leave at 7AM, return 3(ish) ~ State limit 4 tog at 14 inches ~ boat strongly encourages 16 inches and release of most females.
I've got 400 tags to run through...
