Come and be a part of AMSA's 4th Annual Surf Fishing Tournament October 16th -18th, 2008 that will be held on Assateague Island.

We still have room for 4 more teams that will make a field of 32 teams. If you are interested please visit the website fill out the form and get it to us asap. Or you can sign up via phone to assure one of the last few spots. We will work with your team to assure you a spot.

We have received many phone all this week about being able to access the beach during this tournament.
Here are the details.
We have been permitted to have 75 truck on the beach.
We will be using the area from the bullpen south 3000 yards
(that about 2 mile+\-)
There will be designated spots for the fishermen
There will be stations set and numbered
If there is someone casually fishing in one of those spots we will move a team to another spot, this will be done to make sure that everyone gets to have fun
The 75 trucks we are allowed will be part of the overall 144 count.
our teams will be on the beach at 7amand leave by 5pm friday and 7am to 1 pm on Saturday.

If there is are problems during this time please contact myself or the head judge Terry from harbor tackle, we will work with you to assure no interferences.

reminder the tournament is this weekend and we will be using the beach from the bullpen going south to about km25.3

there are 30 stations marked every 300 feet.

that still leaves over 9 miles of open beach to fish on.

you will see white signs with orange numbers, they will be set out thursday night and removed on saturday at noon.....

this area was desiganted by the NPS to be fished in. The bullpen is a highly impacted area most of the year so they wanted to keep the impact in that area. i dont make the rules i just send in the permits and play by them...

I am more than ready to get out there and catch some fish. Lets just hope that the weather will cooperate. See you all on the beach!!! I'll be driving a green F-150.

Well, once again you guys put on a great tournament. Unfortunately, the weather did not. Boy was it blowin out there this morning. Thanks to all who put on this event. See you all out there next year.

good job to everyone who stuck it out and fished, I heard there was some pretty rough conditions!

yeah there were flounder and king fish caught as well.

i will be getting together a full report this week with photos and details. i am still waiting on information from all of my sources.
