Thanks,

it's a big ocean and you have to cover all areas of the water column, so spreader bars on top and sub-surface, artificals and meat at various depths....Islanders are a good choice, not mine but may others swear by them, I use other brands of lures...I like Moldcraft "chuggers", Zukers, Boone Skirts and Sea Witches....

also check-out some of the new stuff at Binnacle Custom Tackle as they have some pretty neat offshore tackle that shows alot of promise and you can visit there "tackle booth" over at the OC Fishing center starting today as they gear-up for this weekends tuna tournament

oh and make sure you pick-up a Thumb Dinger while your in OC as it'll save your skin from that 100+lb Tuna your gonna' catch on thursday

Cool

Randy, it might be good to have a couple jigging sticks set up if you are at the bone.

Thanks for the info......
We got a late start on a foggy Thursday morning.....Went to Maccey's canyon.....Had a screamer on the long line for about 10 seconds.....slammed the hook...had it on for another couple seconds......then off......kind of frustrating since that was our only hook up....I guess that's why it's called fishing
The weather held off and it was a nice day out on the water...
I forgot the inline weights /planer to run some deep baits, and we were marking fish from 60' to 120' at times....well, lesson learned.
Stan

A planer or trolling weights aren't gonna help you at 60 - 120'

Time to start jiggin'
