Ok, I pulled this quote from another thread to address it here so I didn't jack the other thread (nice pics over there btw) Sam, I've read you post this comment and heard you say it many times on the beach...You and the others that are afflicted with motion sickness can BEAT it....It isn't easy, and it isn't quick, but if you really want to get out and fish from the boats, then do it. Case in point....My cousin, used to get deathly Ill when going out on a boat, yes this is the cousin that owns the boat and now goes offshore. You have to conquer the sickness but repeatedly going out. Start small, stay in the bay or head offshore only on VERY calm days....You'll have to be picky at first. Don't worry about puking over the side of the boat, everyone has done it...no matter how many times they've been on a boat....and there will be days that EVERYONE on the boat gets sick, its just the nature of the game......So, instead of hearing you say "I wish I could go" Lets start hearing you say "Hey, yesterday was kinda flat and I had an opportunity to head out and catch some fish and try and overcome my motion sickness"

Jeff, I went out 3 times last year... Sick every time and every time I swore I wouldn't do it again. With the lack of fish each time, it isn't worth it for me. It does look fun and the bays don't bother me, it's when I can't see the land.

You know...my cousin and his girlfriend (she never gets sick) were both laid up the entire time his first run offshore in the new boat. With every passing trip it gets better....Maybe you just need to buy a nice big boat and start hitting it hard every weekend, work that sickness right out of you.....I will tell you one thing I've learned, it makes a huge difference when you're driving the boat.....I've been out on rough days on the bay and wanted to chunk, as soon as I grabbed the wheel of the boat, it distracted me from the nausea and I forgot about it.....Same goes for actually hooking into a fish...When reeling one up, its completely off my mind.....

Sams Next Boat

.... Sams 1st Boat...

How about maybe trying a Head boat??

Ok - I would ask you the following Questions. And you have to think about this HARD and be honest.

On those 3 trips that you went out on - What was your routine? What did you do 24 hrs Prior to leaving the dock?
What did you eat? What did you drink? What did you have for BREAKFAST? When did you have breakfast (if you did)? Did you drink Milk? Beer? Etc...

There is always 1 or 2 things that may make you seasick.

Me... I used to get a little sick when I had Milk. So, I'll eat a greasy Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwhich. Doesnt make sense to a Normal person - Right? Milk is Good... Grease is Bad.

And - A good Night of BOOZIN before a trip- Not good for the stomach and head. It will make you a little sick.

Like this Picture....

...we're ruthless to the ones we love.... LOL!

We will get you out there! Home Equity Loans here we come!

LOL, I can't remember what I ate before I went out, but I don't make a habit of eating a bunch of greasy food or drinking a lot. I might be up for a trip soon... Got a couple things I'd like to try out. I just don't want to be stuck out there for 30 hours...

Oct. is Sporty seas. You gotta really watch the weather and pick your days.

So, if you are a Seasick Man... you are off the hook until July. That should make you feel better.

Sam-
There lies the problem. If anyone knows me OR reads my fishing reports... Ryan likes his sleep. Staying up all night is tough! BUT! I'll try it... A 30 pack of Miller Lite and some Red Bull... Guess it'll work!!

Sam- My son loves to go off shore, and "chums" like a big dog if he does not have the patch behind his ear. He also takes bonine as well. He has not been bothered since. We have been out is some rough seas. Now he still doesnt tie the lines, pull the anchor, or look down for a long time. Before that I had to hold his belt while he chummed....

Well, I'm determined to give it another shot soon. I'll try some ginger, patches and whatever else might help.
