Default Traversing the Isle of Wight

Heading south from the Rt.90 bridge, can you cut across to the north side of the Thorofare, or are you better off going all the way to the junction at the south end? I know pontoons do it all the time, but I draw a couple of feet of water and didn't want to try it without asking first.
Thanks.

If you draw a couple ft of water, follow the bouys. I run aground while drifting my pontoon boat quite often in the middle of the bay. Especially in that east channel.
