Got To Credit Where Credit Is Due!
Hello All-
The 4 of us who run the daily operation of the World Championship tournament try do our best to be unbiased …. But as Surf Fishermen “Except for Dee are recording secretary” we are sometimes blown away at certain Contenders skills and abilities to blaze their reels. With the above said and 7 weeks to go until we crown the 2006 Continental, Coastal and World Champion. We have to say we have been astonished at igormothra race up the contender page. And he has been coined in the tournament as the Night Stalker (No disrespect intended) by taking advantage of big night predators feeding in the Surf! Check out the tournament site http://www.worldsurffishingcontest.org/ Now we our Fans of Donna Gutheridge from the Reel Women Surf Fishing Team. Who since the beginning of the tournament has kept pace with the number 1 Top Contender. And because of her popularity both on East and now the West Coast she is currently being considered on the Albackore Pro Team! We can’t forget about Ocean City Top Contender Paul Fischer known as the bait master, but moreover a picture he sent us in the spring tournament season With his fist raised and rod in the other hand, he sent West coast contenders scrambling, New Zealand contenders running and Texas contenders whining. And last and definitely not least Ocean City Top Contender Ken Nichols; because of our privacy policy we can’t tell you his job. But we can say we’re always impressed with his model scoring sheets, competitive spirit, his 2 Labradors and his representation as a gentleman WCSSA Top Contender. As East Coast Surfcaster ourselves we our proud to be affiliated with the Atlantic Anglers Stable of Top Contenders and Contender. From a metaphorical point of view we think of you guys as the defenders of the Coast! And for all that have read but did not enter into the tournament or the upcoming team match. If you ever meet any of these above anglers. We would hope you will tip your caps .. because they have made the Ocean City Anglers well respected surfcasters throughout the world! “And that’s not hype! That is a Fact!”

I'm gonna have to get into this once I get to SC next year and Give Oliver a run for his money!!!!!!!! Gonna have to tear them up next year....Don't worry, just because I'm getting a boat doesn't mean I'm going to give up on the sitting in the sand soaking baits!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s Turning Out To Be A Final Battle Royal
Just when we thought that the World Championship Silver Cup was going to be housed on the West Coast. Paul Fischer out of Ocean City is mounting a comeback!
Southern California Surfcasters have been behind Dana Wilburn cheering him on too win the World Championship! It actually got to a point that he was beating up the contender field so bad … that his Surfcasting web stable mates were already call him the champion and boosting the West Coast has the best Surfcaster in the world. They even had us believing it and making plans for the victory party to be on the West Coast! But Stop! (((NEWS FLASH))) Nobody told Ocean City Top Contender Paul Fischer. Who Has been singing his reel … on the fall run! Quote From Paul Fischer: I was fishing so hard on the rt 50 bridge that my fishing pole broke. Some one in the crowd that had gathered around to watch offered to go buy me a cheap rod so his family could enjoy watching the show I was puting on. So with less than 15 days from crowning the first World Champion Surf & Shore Angler, we can only wait and see. Will the World Champion Silver Cup home be in Southern California next year? Or Will it reside in Ocean City, Maryland
