Cool Assateaque 9/7/2008

My wife and I took a ride down the beach this afternoon(no fishing) here's what we found:
lots of fairly high surf/green water
beach in ok shape scalloped way out at the north end
the flies are there (as per wind direction)
lots of birds up on the beach hanging out (including pelicans)
about 4 + miles of beach and then a closure for the rest!
Hanna did'nt seem to do any damage, does anyone know why the closure ? I've been out of beach/fishing action for a while with family things and healing up some wounds on my leg(no waTer /sand on or near it). Plan on getting out next weekend(probably Friday) look for my tan/gold tacoma 4dr.
See you at the Fiddeler's Covention friday night.
