Default Kingfish Species

I went for a ride on the beach tonight and found coop riggin up for sharks. No shark bites, but we did pull out some nice kings caught on cut squid.

Does anyone know if these are two different species?

Sam, I think the one on the top is a northern King. They are suppose to have more pronounced stripes than a southern king which is what we see the most on AI. BTW, anyone want to buy 3, 525mags . j/k, going to tear them down and clean em up for the drum season. I am not sure why I have been having so much difficulty with those reels lately They were perfect in the spring. It must be the company
