Default Maryland Inshore Fishing Reports for June 25 - July 1

Summer is here folks. The Kingfish and Flatties are here, Charks are making their arrival known. Get out there and lose some bait!
Feel free to post the fun of the day.

Default AI fishing report

Hit the sand last night with Dad looking for kings and hoping for a shark or two. Well, the kings were there at the start of incoming. Very nice fishing with plenty of action. No sharks, but the water felt really cold. Lots of N/W wind. 15 kings total.

What do you use bait and tackle to get into the kings?
What usually the best time to have luck?
Thanks

Fishbite blood worms or small pieces of bunker. Use small hooks. I usually just use the premade rigs (sea striker) with the green and yellow bar (not ball) style floats on them. They are like 2 bucks at most tackle shops.

Fish either close in (right behind the break) or really far out. They are usually in one of those two places. Of course if you aren't getting hits in those places try everywhere in between. Odds are they are in close though.

Remember they swim towards you when you hook them, so if you ever feel your line go slack all of a sudden, start reeling as quick as you can!

Default AI Kingfish

I used the rigs from Harbor Tackle. Small red/green balls with a small long shank hook. I don't know the name of the rig, but I put small strips of squid on and they were biting about 50-60' from the sand. None in close. I like incoming for kings with dirty water. (west wind will help there).

Thumbs up AI fishing

Went out tonight with my nephew and Dad for a little evening shark fishing. I had one nice one, taking line and then SNAP... I guess that's shark fishing. We ended up catching six kingfish and a ray.

When I left home it was 90 degrees. When we got to the beach I had to put on my sweats. It must have been in the low 70's with the S wind coming off the water. Every once in a while we had a blast of hot air filled with bugs.

Sam, you aren't old enough to have a nephew. LOL!!!!

What setup were you using on the snap off?
Guesstimation of the inshore water temp?
Suitable for yaking? (by semi-sane ppl, certain parties excluded)

Fished with Sam for a little tonight, I caught at least 6 kingfish before sunset then after sam left I caught a horse shoe crab and at least a 5 foot sandtiger ( they are a pain to bring in yourself.) First one I landed alone. Not much of a fight though.(sorry forgot to bring camera this time. I will let sam report his catches.
