Nice job! Thanks for the pictures.

CG, when fishin is hot, most everything else gets put on hold... Much to my wife's dismay.

Heard of at least a dozen more fish caught on the isle today. I fished with Dave for a few hours this evening and no stripes for us tonight. However, like Fred said, "Tomorrow is another day" and I just happen to be off work!

What's funny is that there were still fish on the flats this weekend so the best is yet to come. The first slug is usually the biggest, the numbers follow. I sure didn't think it would start like this though. I have a feeling this little front may slow it down a bit. Fish in front of it for sure.

Default heads

The heads are pretty big. Do you guys use #10 and up hooks? Also it seems like the heads last much longer than chunks. Cab I just leave them out there for a while? 30+ minutes? Thanks, sometimes i think the heads are too big to use. Pat

heads will usually last a lot longer than the chunks. Unless the trash is really aggressive or the crabs are thick.

Usually they kinda washout before they are off the hook. I usually check my heads every 20 to 30 minutes. When its cold out and no crabs are around heads can last over an hour easily. I wouldn't recommend leaving them out for an hour though.

Those stripers you want to catch have huge mouths, much bigger than you realize. I haven't seen a head too big yet.

Thumbs up Sam's Night Fishing 5-5

First post here. I went fishing with Sam on Monday May 5th. Wanted to let everyone know how well we/sam did. He caught 47in., 44in., 40in, 34in., and 33in. stripers . We have cell phone pictures of a few of them which I think he may post. He also caught 3 sand shark. I caught 1 stinking sand shark. We went at about 1830 to about 2330 when I got wife nerfed and had to leave. We were using cut bunker. I believe 4 of the 5 stripers were caught on the body piece and the other on the head. We drove on Assateague and went about a mile south. That’s all i got, sam let me know if missed anything.

Default i got mine for the spring season i can retire till fall lol!!!

i pulled up and found a nice spot around 5:30 last night through out a black drum rig made by the assateague tackle guy. it had 2 juicy bloodies on it with hopes of a nice black drum. walked over to the truck rigged up a few 8nbaits. no sooner did i get the 3rd rod in that drum rig was singing. almost took the rod out of the holder. i ran over to it and brought in a 31 inch striper. what a great first cast.

now im not to sure if it was the bloody or the crabs that were eating the bloodies.. when i cleaned the fish its belly was filled with calico crabs. and as the night went on i found that the bloodies were cleaned off in about 5 minutes by crabs.

as the afternoon went along i had a huge hit just before dark. fought it for about 10 minutes. i thought i had the big one.. it was a nice size shark.

i had a few more huge its which i assume was shark or large blues because the leader was cut off clean.

i had one nice hit while putting on the glow stick. but when i went to set the hook it was gone, the hit pulled the tip out of my fingers lol!!!

all in all a very productive night i would say..

i have found that most of the quality stripers i have caught in the last 3 years have all come at low tide.. i may be on to something.

Default black drum

i was a part of a team for the va beach tournament one year and we caught a bunch of them on bloodies just behind the break. so i figured i would try it again up here since i heard of reports of them being in the area this spring. i had them left over from my trip to deal island this past weekend.
