Default Shakedown Cruise

Dave (osnapper) came over to give me a hand with the wiring and launch today. Thanks again, bro, I really appreciate all your help and hard work!!

We got the boat in the water, and determined that I really need new batteries, which I kind of knew already. Anyway, the fog was THICK THICK today, so we stayed close to the barn, and only ventured up to 28th street. We had a really nice drift, but no takers. I think the water's too cold, and all the rain's not helping a bit. Anyway, the important thing is that BOHICA is WET!!

Oh, we also had a seal sharing our fishing spot you can see his head in the photo.

That's OK buddy, keep workin. I don't need ya now that the boat's in, lol!!

2 new batteries are on board. I got rid of one of the deep-cycles, and replaced it with a 1000 CCA starting battery. The other I replaced with a 745 CCA dual purpose, which powers the electronics and bilges. A smart move on my part, I think.

The new electronics work fine, smart guages are showing data, but I won't 'trust' the gal/hr until I fill up. We'll see....

It's nice to make the first drop of the year. Kind'a keep the fingers crossed, hope it all works well.

If you want to be rid of the deep cycle, I'll take it off your hands....

Steve,

I have 2 of 'em. They're interstate type 17's, I think. New in 2006 with a 36 month warranty, So there's a year left.

Make me an offer. I was gonna put 'em on craigslist.

Cool beans. I'll talk to NOAA and line up a good forecast for that weekend.

Think early may's too soon for a chark trip??
