Ok, I fished from about 7am to 10am on Sat morning with only a few skates to show for my troubles. I was using fresh bunker and squid strips. Around 10 is when I decided to head into Harbor Tackle in Ocean City (
www.harbortackleoc.com). Beverly was a great help and had just want I needed....apparently I had what she needed too, my credit card. So I went ahead and bought the new Setup. I got a TICA TC2, Heavy, Fast Action 10' 12-30# 2-8oz UEHA630502C. I love the rod, to match the rod I bought a TICA Gemini GN300 and spooled it up with Sufix Superior 20# Tangerine...gotta love those colors Smiley Anyhow, I got back and couldn't wait to try it out so I headed down to the beach. Mid day wasn't so hot, but I did get some practicing in, damn that thing can cast far with little effort. Thunderstorms Moved in and I decided against standing on the beach with a graphite rod with lightning crashing around me so My youngest daughter and I headed back up to the camper. Once the storms were passed we ate some dinner and I headed back down to the water for a while. Again nothing on the cut bunker or the squid. I decided to head back out just after the sun set where I fished until about 12-1am. I managed a few more skates and some doggies. Up at 6am on Sunday I tried again with nothing but Skates to show for my effort. I guess I'm gonna have to head back out soon and give it another shot.....
