Exclamation Explosives on OC Beach

OCEAN CITY, Md. -- Fire authorities in Ocean City are warning beachgoers of dangers in the sand after two small explosive devices were found along the resort town's 10-mile beach. The Ocean City Fire Marshal's Office said that two non-electric blasting caps were found on the beach, one on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. Blasting caps are small tube-like devices used to detonate larger explosives. The two blasting caps were attached to orange tubes about 20 feet long with an aluminum end.
Fire officials are warning beachgoers not to touch a blasting cap if they see one and to call police. Beachgoers were warned to stay 300 feet away because the caps could detonate without warning. There is no word yet on where the blasting caps may have come from. http://www.wbaltv.com/news/14270487/detail.html

WOW! Last month it was tear gas, what is going on? I wonder if the fish are trying to get back at us.

Interesting, and do we use a metal detector to know they may be just under the sand where we put our towel?

Wouldn't a couple sweeps with the sand monster clear them?
Will they filter out something that size?"
