Default AMSA Tourney - Where ya staying

Ok,

Got a short list of where we are planning to stay for the tourney.

Where is everyone else staying from out of town?

Be nice to meet up and drink a few suds with some of you guys after fishing.

P.S. Thought about staying at the campground on the island. Bad idea or not??

Hey Dixie
The campground on the state park has hot showers and the federal side has cold both are nice but after getting bait and hopefully fish smell all over you the hot shower is the ticket. there are also several close by motels that are very affordable as it is off season rates in most places, i would check the AMSA handbook some of the motels are AMSA supporters too.

Good Luck Fishing

I may have room at my place in West OC for the Hampton Roads crowd. I'll check and get back to y'all.

as long as one of your party is actively fishing. If you all get caught snoozing then they kick you off and I think the bill is $75. If you sleep in shifts you should be fine

When I fished the Drum tourney I didn't even see a ranger the whole time. I think they kinda leave the hard core fisherpeople alone.

The only thing I would suggest is don't put a tent up, I think thats the red flag that the rangers dislike. Sleep in the back of a pickup or SUV.
