Default trout

shad landing was stocked monday with 350 new trout.

gonna try and hit it this weekend and break in my new 5wt.

Hey mdram, I am seriuosly thinking about getting a fly rod for the surf,,,what do you recomend and what do you mean by 5wt.

fly rods are rated by wt's, im still learning a bit about it, 5wt being for trout, panfish, that size fish.
i also have a 9wt for saltwater use, as well as for bassin

best thing i can realy tell you is to go a local fly shop, i use salisbury flyshop on rt 12, mason knows his stuff you can call him and he will be more than happy to point you into the direction you want

im not 100% certain if you will need a regular rod or a spey may fit you better, they are 13+ ft long and are 2 handed.

I'm getting one too. There are a lot of days where that west wind really calms things down and the water looks good. Been wanting one for a while now.
