Hit the sand this afternoon and fished from around 2:30-9:00. A whole lot of nothing until dusk and then I started catching kings!
It was a nice and long awaited run of kingfish.

Then, my Okuma reel drag screwed up and I had about 300 yards of line out with no drag. I'm standing there fooling around with the reel with about 7 little pieces in my hand and my other rod bends over!

I quickly put the pieces back on the reel and run over to the rod. Well, if didn't feel like a ray and it didn't feel like a shark... As a matter of fact, it was an Angel Shark. It was approx 40lbs.

angel shark?...now if I only stayed later to catch some kings. Fished today with the family and was joined by Sam later. 1 small sandbar to show for my efforts and Brian caught a very nice size keeper flounder. Nice day on the beach. No kings, again!

It didn't have any barbs, but it did have a snappy set of jaws. Pretty aggressive for something so funny looking. He took a bunker head.
