OC 5/24
First, the good...
Fished the Thorofare w/minnows-at the beginning of the incoming, caught flounder on 3 or 4 drifts in a row, then it stopped. Had several shorts, kept one at 21". Skates were plentiful-we had 6 or 7 of them. Water temp dropped from nearly 65 to 60 when the tide started, and the clarity was excellent.
Next, the bad...
I had one about 5 lbs. up to the boat and my partner panicked and tried to tail-net him, missed, and away he swam (the fish, not my buddy).
Finally, the ugly...
At sunset on the way back in, my partner hit a crab pot, and bounced us off the windshield. We anchored up and finally got the thing cut away. He tried to lower his motor and it wouldn't budge. We called 5 or 6 friends to come drag us in, as we were only a half-mile from his dock. No one was home. Finally, around 9:30, a neighbor shows up and pulled our sorry selves back to shore.
