Well, I think I figured out what happened to my last striper with the stick up it's anus. While cleaning it I noticed these just inside the fish. Someone evidently shoved these up the fish's rear and then jammed them further up with a stick, then left the stick.

Now, why would someone do that for a catch and release fish? Maybe they were going to weigh it in, but then got nervous and threw it back alive? Either way, congrats, jackass...

Wow - strange strange things - amazing the fish was still alive and kicking!

Reminds me though of a party boat i was on while i watched a guy stick sinkers down the throat of a bluefish in a vain attempt at winning the pool - i stared at him while he did it. He didn't seem ashamed at all - no conscience apparently. Luckily he didn't win anyway so I didn't have to say anything.

Least it gave you a heavier fish to pull in Sam

Can't wait to get one of my own - two days and counting. Tick...Tick..Tick...

It was nice running into you and wetting some lines with you again sam, That was an intresting find on that last striper too. I was hoping for a few striper but only came up with 10 or so skate and dogfish combo. Think I am trying again today.

Question for the guys that have been catching - have most of your fish been on Heads or chunks? I like to use chunks to give me more chance of catching ANYTHING (rather than an all or nothing bait) - but.....if the stripers are ignoring chunks and hitting only heads i don't want to do that either....

What are your thoughts?

I caught a blue on heads, barely though he released himself on the shore. I got to throw him back.
