Default AI on foot?

I was thinking about doing some surf fishing on AI tomorrow. It's going to be my first time there and I don't have a 4x4. Am I going to have a long walk if I want to find a good place to fish from? I plan on getting there around 6am is it going to be crowded? Anything else important?

Thanks

Welcome to our site!

When I first started fishing Assateague Island, I would drive all the way down south and park in the "South Ocean Beach" parking lot. I had some of the best kingfishing, croakers and even some nice sharks during the summer. There could be some other folks fishing near you, but you can walk up and down until you settle into a spot.

Be prepared to walk up and down the boardwalk (100 yards or so), but it is well worth it!

Good luck.

You can walk over at south ocean beach and look around. Do not forget about north ocean beach either. I have caught keeper stripers at both locations. Good water is good water, fish don't know if they are in the orv section or not.

One last question (yeah right), where is this "buck's place"? Anyone have a street address?

Default Bucks Place

Bucks Place Online I'm not sure what their mailing address is, but they are on the corner of Rt 611 and Rt 376. About 300 yards past Frontier Town on the right.

Well, I didn't catch anything but I had some problems in the bait department. I got some frozen peanut bunker at Buck's because their fresh bunker was from Friday. I was using a fish finder rig at first and hooking the bunker through the mouth/head but the bunker was extremely soft and would tear off the hook on almost every cast so I tried a mullet rig with the same results. Is it normal for frozen peanut bunker to be that soft or was this batch old?
What's a good alternative if I can't get fresh bait and is there a better place to get bait from?
