Default Be careful at the pumps

The first pump on the right at AI has a subtle but substantial ledge from the old to new asphalt, bad enough to roll my ankle in my flip flop and either severely sprain or brake my right foot...only 3 beers in 6 hours so that wasn't the cause .

I have a purple foot and swelling and I'll be hitting the doctor up today. No sooner then I did it and told my buddy to be careful he's walking by the side of the truck and did it too no damage for him though.

take care at the pumps!

Get well soon!

Just get a ride back out the beach and do your normal fishing, i am sure keeping your foot in that 49 degree water in only your shorts would be just as good as icing down that ankle.

I have to break it to you though, you weren't the craziest person in the water on Saturday, I saw a couple girls in Bikini's out in the water.

It was just too nice to spend the day in waders, that water sure did take your breath away though, especially when you got a "washover".

LOL... I think you're nuts going out there in shorts.

Sorry to hear about the ankle, man.

my ankle is actually fine which is weird. I ended up with my foot sliding on the flip flop and me standing on my little toe with my foot kind of rolled under itself.

Feels like I'll either have a broken bone in my foot or a sprain in the joint of it. I circled my 2 possibilities. Either way will make for a long day walking on soft sand.

Man, that looks bad! Fifth metatarsal looks like it's fractured in half!

I would go get it checked, I thought I was fine too when I hurt myself playing hockey. Never missed a shift or game, when to get an MRI a year after my injury because it got to the point I couldn't sleep at night. Diagnosis, minor rotator cuff tear and I sperated my shoulder in two places and it grew a bone spur when it healed improperly. That was 3 years ago and I still don't have my range of motion back (even after physical therapy). Still only 80% range, almost impossible for me to lift something over my head.

Charkbait...sorry to hear about your misfortune. The "repaving" at AI has become a joke. I'm just looking for the right post to vent.

I have to agree with Sam. I've looked quite a few x-rays with fracture and it looks like you've got one.
Don't play around. Get it taken care of. Instead of being out for a little while now, later down the line it could put you out of commission for long time.

ok, that was just an x-ray I found online I used to circle my problem areas.

I'm clear, no breaks just a purple foot and severe sprain.

Now, time to fish!
