Default trannies and spinning reel

As most of you know, I lost my tranny yesterday but i picked up a diawa emcast 6000 yesterday, have not had a chance to use it yet, but spooled it with at least 500 yards of power pro 50 lb braid, the reel is ten ball bearings and is super smooth, dyin to try it out, mated it to a 12 foot PENN rod ( not sure model) ultra rigged. The tip flexes more than i would like but good solid construction. I still use my conventionals but wanted a good spinning set up in case of a bad blow up.

I agree with the backup plan.

I thought about rebuilding my spinners as conv this winter but then I wouldn't have a bailout and would have nothing to lend out. I have a hard enough time finding people willing to spend 40 hours on the beach without requiring them to drop a couple hundred first.
