Well, I guess I'll never be able to take my kids on the beach anymore. I guess they want to take another resource away for recreational purposes. I am getting sick of hearing their crap. IMO, beach traffic has a minimal impact on the wildlife. You can go ahead and state a select few are breaking the rules, so no more trucks on the beach, give me a break. YES THERE WILL BE A SELECT FEW WHO BREAK THE LAW OR RULES, BUT SHOULD YOU KNOW LONGER ALLOW IT BECAUSE OF THE SELECT FEW...OF COURSE NOT!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK, TIME FOR ME TO START LOBBYING AGAINST THIS CRAP...IAM SICK OF THEIR CRAP!...AND ON THE BOTTOM IT STATES "WHAT CAN YOU DO"...I KNOW WHAT I CAN DO, LOBBY AGAINST THIS .

Good post Bev,,,time to put a stop to their agendas,,,they want to take take and take take more away from us, the citizens!,,,Iam all for preserving the environment, but not taking it away from us,,,BSBSBS!

Man, getting Coop FIRED up this early on a Sat mornin!!!!! I'm all about preserving the environment....but here's the catch....Why preserve it if you're just going to prevent people from enjoying it? Kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? Take all that money that you're wasting by writing and publishing articles, and donate it to the park service so they can hire another ranger to help keep the bad eggs out.....

This is the very reason i joined the OBPA,the last time i was down to the outer banks after talking with the folks at frank& frans. The OBPA is not only fighting to keep the outer banks beachs open, but all beachs! I hate them birds and the assholes who love them!!!

I am with you on this 100% There is no way they can justify the complete disregard for everyones rights to these national treasures based on the actions of a few.... more enforcement is needed to contain those people who do break the rules. Those of us that follow the rules have nothing to fear from a little extra enforcement. I think we need to start a petition against these people stealing our beaches.

Default Great Post!

We who use the resources have a responsibility to maintain those resources to the best of our ability.
The actions of a few ignorant people do not give a fair representation for the majority who frequent the beaches.
If we do not get involved with these issues we will lose our privileges to drive on the beaches! Thanks to the many organazations that have prevented this from happening sooner! I for one will write or e-mail all representitives that I can, ALL of us need to do the same! It is imperative to let those that have the ability to restrict us from driving on the beach know how we feel!
I am also sick and tired of these TREE HUGGIN A-Hole extremists blowing every little thing out of context! Funny thing is the same people trying to change the laws were the ones standing in line to buy property as close to the ocean as possible. Plovers, my a-s wildlife my a-s all there interested in is themselves nothing would make them happier than to step outside there million dollar house that was built on them Plover nesting grounds and see nothing but themselves!

Default That guy is asking for it

Having spent a couple years teaching in Dare County that author is asking to for it! Those guys down there love 3 things. Church, Fishing/hunting and surfing. 2 of which they use their orv's for. In all my time spent on the beach down there I never saw anyone being reckless. At Assateague the same thing, everyone drives pretty mellow. Who wants to trash their truck anyway by tearing around in the sand? What a kook.
