Default Reading the Surf

When I get out at surf fishing (which isn't enough)I always like to fish by structures ....But that isn't the case on AI..... I was wondering if some of the regulars that fish AI could post a few pics on what types of Wave action they see that makes them stop at the right place. I know that going to the beach at low tide and looking for troths is the correct way of doing surf fishing but not all of us have the time for that one (would love to tho) SO I was wondering if there were any way that you could post some pics of rips or certain waves that give tell tail signs of deaper water or troths.Tanks

This guy who opened a tackle shop here in Grasonville and he makes the best looking rods I have ever seen. I had an idea for a surf rod that I wanted him to make. .....Here it goes...a rod is basically a blank tube .... all I want is at the end (here is the tricky part)put a glass eyelet (maybe about 2 inches long so that light can shine thru it) at the butt end put a threaded cap on so that you can put in a small flashlight in the rod itself. THat way you don't have to worry about glow sticks or taping things on the end of the rod. I have lost a few lines fishing at night when the clip with the glow light twists around gets tangled in the line then that sound that I hate happens "SNAPPPPP!"..........
