Had the option of taking Friday or Tuesday off for the holiday... so Friday it is. Headed out to the Eastern Shore around 5ish.. stopped at the RT 50 bridge to toss some lures at 7:30, no takers... Headed over to Harbor Tackle around 9ish for some bait and convo w/ Bev... Bait on ice, report that big blues are still in the area and maybe a striper or two, my hopes are high.

Arrived ORV area to deflatulate (lol) the tires and head to the ole honey hole. In route I see a gent get'n some nice pullage and decided to hang a sec to see what the trophy was. A minute or so later a nice chomper looked to be around 30++. He stated that was his second of the morning.

Geared up and headed on down, only a few folks fishing.. weather was nice.. a little overcast but gorgeous none the least. Backed in and jumped out to get one rod in the drink just in case there were a few feesh hangin around.

First rod in the drink about 10ish and set'n up the other two. As I'm tying another hook, WHAM!!! rod bows over (rod in the drink less than 5mins) and after a nice little battle fish on the beach - 31" blue. Baited back up and re-tossed... Finished set'n up the second and third rods, launched the second and was about to bait up the third and WHAM!!! first rod bows over again.. 28" blue.. looks like they're still here. 3rd rod in the water and walkin back to the truck.. WHAM!!! second rod bows over... 29" blue... 3 fish w/ in the first half our.. watch out now...

Had several bow ups but fish shook the hook loose when reeling in...

Well, switched from the 7/0 back to the 8/0 and didn't loose another fish.

Noticed a lot of bird action a ways off in the distance, but as they came a tad bit closer the fish turned on and I kept this in mind once the bite slowed...

Around 2:15 after a slight calm in action - I noticed birds again diving in the distance. Well I threw on some fresh bait and casted out on the two heavers... As I placed the second in the holder the first bows up and starts singing jingle bells so I join in on the carol and sing the lil drummer boi on in... 32" blue.. nice fatty.... Well just as I get this one on the beach WHAM!! my second goes off... bring that one and decide to unhook and recast the first.. heading back to unhook the other fish and my first goes off again.. and bending like crazy (spot head)... Man get over to the rod and this fish is fighting like crazy and given me a run for my money... Arms tired, but no rest for the weary.. a few minutes of battle and out comes a 33.5" nice chomper... Boi what a blast.. I lost between 7 and 10 fish due to the fish coming unbuttoned.. still managed 7 monster blues. The last coming when I was packing everything up. Cast out for a little finale. Hoped in the truck and turned it around facing the rod w/ the rain coming down a tad bit steadier... By the time I could put the truck in park... WHAM!!! another hit... Jumped out to land an ince 26" blue.

Headed on out w/ some fish for the fam and time to do some shopping.

All in all a great Friday and great end to 06'. Well, maybe We'll see if the Mrs' let's me out one more day...

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and hopes for an even better and safe New Year...

A few pics of the previous week's outing w/ the pup - Siris. He also joined me this week and had a great seagull run... LOL..

sorry for the delay on the pics...

Thumbs up

Great report, Huntsman! That is a great day of fishing. I wonder how long these chompers stay around? I was under the impression that the larger stripers hung with the chompers. Did you say you had some pics?

Default PICS...

Added the pics on the first post for your viewing.

Had a blast and was hoping for another shot before 07 but looks like a no show.

Hopefully all will have a great New Year.

Enjoy
