I don't see much flex in that rod, what if you get a big one????? The heck with that, I'm all about the kids learning to do it the right way. I even had troubles bringing myself to buy them their first spincasting set up. I wanted to take them straight to spinning, but decided I'd deal with less of a headache if I went spincasting.....

Talk about starting off on the wrong foot... Some of these inventions are ridiculous...

I saw the commercial for that thing on tv, cracked me up. I agree with Jeff, there are ways to learn to fish.... this is not one of them.

Thumbs up Story

Interesting story…. Ocean Pines Fishing club conducts a “teach a kid to fish day”. Lots of kids and parents show up, they get a chance to learn knots, casting lessons, a loaner rod if they don’t have one, bait and a chance to fish the south pond at Ocean Pines. My story, one mom brought her 2 sons to the event, they both had Scooby Doo fishing rods, they fished and caught several trees, and then came the door prize, and they won a new rod. The event was over but they wanted to fish a little more. They got fresh bait and went back to the pond to fish. The club members were cleaning up and I turned around and saw the Mom tap dancing and screaming, a 17” bass was flopping on the shore. Her son caught a nice bass on the Scooby Doo rod and reel. He had his picture taken and then threw it back. He was hooked on fishing I am sure. One of the nicest things I have seen in a while. I guess the moral of the story is…. It isn’t how deep you fish but how you dangle your worm. Or what kind of equipment you have.

I couldn't agree more. I don't care what you are fishing for or how you are doing it,,,we are all out there to catch a few fish and have fun doing it.
