I should be down again in a couple of weeks to try again, and again around Christmas. I am going at least until then. If you guys keep catching them I will be there with ya right thru the winter.
My freshwater fishing never stops. |

Probably January 1. I would like to get out there a few more times in Dec.

I think the first two months of the new year will be slim on fishing days and even slimmer on nights..... but not going to put the rods away(mostly cause I have no place to put them) cause I think it might be sparse but nice this winter....and Dave you said it...it is hard to stay away...

I racked them for the year mostly because I'll hunt through to Feb 1 now. About mid march I'll start trolling Liberty for big fresh water stripers and then from March out through Nov I'll get a couple times a month in. A couple times a week in from April15th-May15th or so. I'll be saving my trips in 2007 for September. I made it down sharkin about 5 times, may cut that to 2 so I can hit every weekend and some week days in Sept for Drum. Also found a real nice spot in VA to fish out front for Drum. I also want to hook up with a red on the yak out in the chessy this year, but that's a lot of paddling in unfamiliar water so it could be a long shot.
Fishing Goals for 2007 40+inch fresh water Striper (yak) only ever caught dinks 50+inch Chessy Striper (yak) 40lb Beach Striper 45+ Chessy Drum (yak) 50+inch Beach Drum 15 or more Drum for 2007 Get my wife to reel in a 40+lb fish Don't fish solo so much

I think last night was it for me this year, I was insane for thinkin my knee was ready, had a great time but the reels are beggin for a cleanin and so are the trucks, but who knows just like yesterday when I was tearin into both my vehicles, maintenance wise, Oliver called and said you need to get out here, so there I was both vehicles in pieces going crap which one can I get back together the quickest? Ended up being the newer one, figures just got done cleanin it to, well got to do it again today, but it was worth it. If the weather stays warm and the chance of catchin a monster is there all bets are off.

...from what i hear, there's plenty of large still north of us...as far north as montauk...the big unknown is whether they will be on the beach when they pass this area...as long as there is bait available, i'll be there tryin'...meanwhile, there are plenty of shorts around...
