Question Newbie Here

Just found this site while surfing . Very cool . I just moved from Bmore to Hebron . Plan on doing alot of fishing in OC and the DB, IRI, etc. I've got a small boat , ok I guess for the back bays but would like some info for other types of fishing this winter . I usually go up to Jersey to fish for Porgies and bass in the winter but have heard that some of the boats from Delaware will do the same thing . I'd much rather save the gas and the long drive if that is so . Any help on this ?

Thumbs up

Welcome aboard! There were stripers caught until January this year from the Assateague Surf and by the way things are looking this year, we could be in for another mild winter. Boats go to offshore wrecks, the Rt. 50 bridge and the jetties and bulkheads behind the OC bay for Tautog. Right now, the water is pretty dirty and the tides have been really low. Fishing should pick up next week as long as the wind doesn't continue coming from the west.

Glad you found the site. Take a look around and you'll find some of the friendliest folks on the net.

Welcome Welcome!!!!! What size small boat? spring/summer/fall don't rule out the Chesapeake and the Tangier Sound.....Great fishing to be had there and very accessible on some days by small boat. I started fishing the sound and bay with a 17' bass boat. Just find the oyster beds in summer and early fall for croaker, trout, spot and some flounder. Spring, follow the birds or troll the channels for stripers. (you can do that this time of year too) If your boat is big enough, look for my report on crisfield from last week...the majority of the fish we caught was less than a mile run from the ramp.

Welcome to the home of some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable anglers I have ever had the pleasure to have wet lines with. Check the old posts for some great advice, good stories, and gut busting funnies. How did you get started fishing, general concensus here is most of us caught the bug from our grandfathers. Looking forward to hearing from you and wetting lines with you in the future.
