Default So wadda you think my chances are?

I'll be at the top end of the orv area over the weekend (walking in) looking for a drum. Think it's possible to catch one that far north? I sure would like to get Ryan on a drum!


One thing for sure...if I don't try then I know I won't catch one!

Yes,,,there is always a chance, just make sure you bring enough bait

A guy here in OC caught 2 of them, 16" each, in his canal off the Isle of Wight.

Anything is possible. There have been some "different" catches in the area this year.
Next thing ya know we'll be pulling in Grouper.

Reds?,,,go catch some Pompano's,,,,,,those larger ones are good eating if you can find another,,,that was one pretty fish!

you are not kidding... that one was just enough for a sandwich, so tasty makes me want to head south and try and snag a bunch

That's right...if I can catch a pompano than I should be able to get a drum. I will let you guys know how I make out.


I might pick up a little bit of spot for bait also.

What about a tarpon? I was talking to someone the other day and he said a buddy of his caught 2 tarpon back to back this summer. Anyone ever heard of it?

They catch them in Va., so it's not a stretch to think they would travel up here. Where did the guy claim he caught the two tarpon?

I've seen one jump about 300 yards out one summer afternoon on AI. I'm guessing it was about 4-5' in length and beautiful.
