I have caught SeaTrout and Bluefish in the surf on live spot, never have caught a Striper or Drum on a live spot. I would imagine that the stripers and drum are feeding on live bait so why not try it. my largest bluefish 16.5lb and sea trout 10.6lb came on live spot both from the surf at Dewey beach Del. Ya never know until yu try
