Local piers take a hit from the passing hurricane and leave boats in shambles.

I think it really caught everyone off gaurd,,,I had the bay right against my house and I am 1 lot away from waterfront, two lots down they are right on the marsh/bay,,,also loss one large tree that smashed into the back of my wifes garden,,,the pic below is the bay backed up on my neighbors yard before it really got bad by late in the day,,,just before night it was under our deck and close to our house,,,over 2' of water behind the house that extended into the bay,,,got to get a chainsaw.

Where were these pictures taken? Looks like Indian River Bay... The typical site of damage: IR at the Serendipty RR pier and misc. OO piers. And... What are you doing posting pictures? I'd imagine today is a very busy day for you! Making money hand over fist!!! Were not as crazy as the Long Neck two

I guess I had better go get the camera out of the jeep and tell my little AI adventure story I had yesterday.
Okay, I drove down to the island and there was a TORRENTIAL down-poor with an incredibly strong N/E wind. It was crazy going across the Verrazano bridge. Here are a few pics from the South Ocean Beach Parking lot. I did brave the (what used to be) boardwalk to the benches on the other side of the dunes. The water was RIGHT THERE! I could have fished from the benches! :-) I had so much sand plastered to me, in my ears, shoes, eyes, teeth... It was crazy.

wow, thats crazy, and all we had here was moderate winds and a BUNCH of rain. The wind wasn't even strong enough to do anything more than knock over my garbage can (which I refused to bring in from the curb because it was too wet) and knocked over the landing net that was still leaning up against the front of the house from unpacking the canada trip

She wanted me to take her back out there! I said, not right now, as I had just taken a shower.

sam, try taxiing a 100 foot wide 100 foot long 25 foot tall airplane with 50 mph wind gusts, that was freakin awesome airplane bouncing all over the place wanting to flip, I would do it again in a heartbeat, I wish I could have gone to AI though. wanted to see the 15 foot waves, I did make it out there thursday, and when Isabell came through two years ago.
