I have seen them before. I'm not sure where to find them, but they do exist.

I bought one this year. Works well and has paid for itself already. Best bait is tuna scraps, but dog biscuits will work too.

Where do you put the trap?
Is it something you just toss out in the surf at AI?

where did you get it? might have to either get one or hit you up to borrow yours for rock season coming up.... gonna try and rig a couple 55 gallon plastic barrels for live wells to avoid paying 2 bucks a piece for spot come october.

Yeah I keep em in a 55 gal plastic barrell.

The guy who made them for the shops in OC died over the winter, so I had to get mine from Ricks in Long Neck.

Oyster Bay used to have them, and the metal fabricating place at Rt. 54/113 makes them as well as pens to keep them in after you catch them...forget the name of the place right now. Some of the local hardware stores may have them, too. Use them in the bottom of lagoons, canals, or near fish-cleaning stations if you can, for the best results. After you catch them, throw a can of dog food into your keeper once a week to keep them fed. You need a livewell on you boat with plenty of fresh oxygen to keep them alive-if you take 'em somewhere in a bucket, you need a bubbler for that, too. A sabiki rig tipped w/ Fishbites will catch you some, too, if you don't have a trap.
