Default Light wgt. anchor for yakked baits

We've tried this 3/8" rebar design and it holds. The long leg is 10". To retrieve, just a good pull and it's dislodged. If you crank at a steady pace, it will not plant itself or hang in the crashing beach wash. The first proto type was 1/2" rebar and at 250 yards, my arm was fatigued after the retrieve. Funny you don't mind the fatigue when there is something on the other end.

reminds me of a wreck anchor.... after friday I would be a little leary of it really getting lodged in the sand, I would hate to keep losing rigs and line, so I would think you would want to rig it to snap off and just count on losing it every time.

If your using light tackle meaning a 10'+ surf pole and #30 running line sure. But I'm using this on the 6/0 senator #50. I'm using a light duty duolock for attachment and the heavier prototype anchor broke off on an earlier sea trial with a big tug. The cost factor is nil since I have welding machine and rebar at the shop.

I think that thing would be burried in no time out there. However, I do think it would hold the bait in place!

I wouldn't mind trying a couple on heavier days, think I could get you to make me one or two, I don't have access to a welder anymore but I can get you a boat load of rebar though.
