West side of AI via yak

Last time at AI I went to the west side of AI down the "road" by the BP. There is a beautiful inlet there. I tossed quite a few different metals out there without a bump.

That time I was standing on the sand. Next time I would consider taking the yak out a bit from the back inlet area.
Any ideas what might be there and what to use?
Might be a source of live bait for the surf....

I didn't see any mullet or whatever around there, otherwise I would have tossed my net.

Steve there should be flounder, white perch, and spot,I would think also some of us are hoping that maybe later in the summer, might be some Red's up in the shallows when (and if) I get my boat back before vacation, you can bet Im going to explore more of the lower section of AI down into Newport Bay and maybe as far south as Pirate Island

Yeah, I'll take a few things out on the yak and try 'em. Would be nice if I could net a school of Mullet too....

I had also tried some Atom Poppers and a couple other top water thingeys.
