well steve...i think it was the spot we were at...went out tonite, north of where we were and within 15 min i had my first cat on. Caught on a Softshell crayfish. About 5 minutes later i had a series of strikes but couldnt get the hook set! After checking the bait i threw it back out to the same hole and within about 5-10 min i had my second one on! so far they both were around 20-22 inches. Time pased and about 1 hour later i pulled all my lines in and switched to Shad and Liver and landed my biggest and last one of the night... She was 27 inches and took me about 5-7 minutes to land! soo obviously it was just the spot we were at...so at least i finally got some pullage and had some fun out on the water. Again it was a beutifull night and people accross the river were setting off fireworks so it made for a nice backdrop and having my g/f with me also made the night a perfect night on the river! Hopefully you can get down again this summer steve or ill have to come down there!
Go get'um Guys!!! have fun and be safe! PS. This time Steve i didnt take my camera with me! |

LOL I think it was the weekend Steve. I ended up taking my girlfriend and daughters out over the weekend. Spots that I had fished previously with incredible results were COMPLETELY dead. I littered the bottom with chicken livers and shrimp without a single bite. We actually only caught 2 fish in about 5 hours of fishing. Both were on a Mepps 1 Algia. THe first was a first for me on that lake (even though the GF caught it) a nice 12" walleye, Caught in 5' of water while trolling actually. We started out just changing locations and Ciara wanted to fish while we were moving so out it went. Instantly started getting bites... (gonna have to try that again). The second was a nice fat Crappie caught on the same spinner. But not a single cat even nibbled on our bait.
