Default Largemouth Bass

A friend of mine is going to be taking me freshwater fishing soon. Can anyone recommend any lures for large-mouth bass? I don't want to look like a total idiot!

Live bait works for us. But if it has to be artificial, I would go with a dark rubber worm rigged up with a lead head directly above the hook. No swivel.

Caught on a fly rod. Pa largemouth

Default Freshies

Rapella minnows work well too.

As an old salt who owned a tackle shop told me:

All these things are to catch the fisherman, not the fish.

Plenty will disagree, but it's true that it's more the method and location.

A few good worms and a couple swimmers should do it.

A top water and a diver should work.

Or, you could ask your friend to recommend a few of his favorites...

Default The Headless Chomper!

That is a great fish you caught, Chomp. Why do you block out your face? It would be great if we could see it!
