Default Spring time Bass fishing Suggestion

right not i am finding that the best technique for largemouth bass fighing this early in the year is to use a 2-4" suspending crankbait. the flashier the colors are the better it will work.

What bodies of water are you finding that to be the perferred bait in? I've fished lake anna a few times and have had a hard time figuring out what they are biting on. I've tried jigs, crankbaits, jerkbaits of all different colors and styles...Although my freshwater fishing is about to take a decline due to trophy season coming in on the bay this weekend

I have been finding these techniques effective in various lakes across the state of connecticut. Also in the connecticut river for smallmouth. Where abouts is the lake you were mentioning? If you are not finding anything that works i suggest exploring the shallower parts of the lake with live bait if the lake permitts it.

Ahhhh, you're up north I'm down in VA. This lake is a little different as its a Cooling resevoir for a Nuclear Power Plant. So in fishing the lake I get over 10 deg difference between the two ends. Not to mention extreme changes due to water clarity, depth, sunlight, winds etc in the feeder creeks and shallower coves....

Lake Anna is in Northern Virginia, its a deep clear-water lake (wth a private "HOT SIDE " from the power plant).
I've had very little success there, but my brother Jeff and Philip on the other hand have done quite well in years past. they'll use huge Golden Shinners wth a Kahle hook under a bobber or a natural colored Jig n' Pigs
