Well, thats exactly one week before my birthday, so I think I may be due a Tournament. made a couple phone calls, talked to the boss, at it appears that I am getting a tournament as a birthday present...Now I guess the question is.....Bullpen to the VA line. Bullpen is in the ORV area right? I guess that means my Tournament fee is going to be $180 since I'll have to buy an ORV permit too :(.....Can't wait, sounds like a blast...

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No camping sites left for ocean side drive in Camping......Only nights available are 9/21 and 9/22. Absolutely everything drive in is booked up 9/23. Looks like I'm gonna be stuck in the bayside campground :(

I fully plan on it, HOWEVER, my girlfriend and mother will be coming out for the weekend as well as possibly my daughters, so a place for them to sleep is a requirement. I've talked my dad into entering the Tourny with me and possibly my brother, now I'm going to try to get my Non-fishing brother-in-law to join us.....Should be a great way to celebrate my birthday....

Its on the application. $100 entry fee per applicant. Prizes are based on 100 applicants. Monies will be adjusted for more or less applicants. Park Rangers will be monitoring the # of vehicles on the beach and will adhere to the maximum # allowed, and enforcing the 1 for 1 rule when that limit is reached so anglers may have to wait. It is the Angler's Responsibility not the trounrament's to gain access to the fishing area. I think that pretty much cover's what is said on the application.

ok, so I suppose I have some questions since I've never fished a tournament before. #1, what exactly are IGFA rules....I know who they are, but am not really sure, I know only certain lines and line sizes work and other such things like that. #2 I can find no where in the Rules about amount and type of equipment. How many rods can I have etc. #3, All red drum must be released alive, if there's 8 miles of beach we can fish, how many officials are there going to be? I'd hate to lose a fish because an official can't get there in time.

I think as many rods as you can work,,,I find changing bait every 15 minutes,,,4 seems to be max for me when fishing hard and thats pushing it,,,officials have cell phones and radio,,,call them up when you think you have one on the line,,,thats why I think its good to have a fishing buddy near by to make the phone call while you fight the fish
