Harbor Tackle’s Fishing Report, November 27, 2006

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. At the beginning of the week, it looked like maybe the larger stripers were here. At the beach Craig Pentz and Jeff Ballister hooked up with a couple of nice blues and some stripers. The blues were 32 inches and 31 inches and a 30 inch striper mixed in with several shorts. Also, some larger stripers were found in the Inlet and the shad had moved in. A 23 inch tog was taken at the 2nd & 4th Street bulkhead. A customer of mine was getting 2 to 3 legal tog everyday she fished. Then came the storm and was wondering what trouble it had brought or maybe it had pushed some bigger stripers in. Friday I heard a couple of puppy drum were caught on the Ocean City beach. Saturday and Sunday a few legal stripers and large blues were caught in the surf. A 39 inch and a 38 inch striper and 2 - 30 inch blues were reported to me on Saturday. There was lots of grass and skates to contend with but it seems there are less crabs to steal your bait. The water was dirty with grass and debris, but it is clearing up a little with each day. Tom Cahall came in with a 32 inch blue he caught in the AI surf on Sunday. In the Inlet a 36” striper was caught on live eels. There are still great numbers of tog being caught – most are undersized.
