Default How long do you keep frozen bait??

Just curious because i've been catching a lot of eels at my freshwater hole lately and i'd like to freeze em till April when striper season starts up again

again? I'm pretty sure your in the thick of it right now!

6 months on well preserved bait should be fine, especially eels.

They'll keep just fine, but i'm willing to bet you'll be freezing some nice fillets if you decide to sling a few in the surf over the next few weeks.

I use Kosher salt all over the bait and froze in a standard freezer bag. Make sure the bait bag doesn't have a puddle of water in it and press out the air. I don't bother with vacuum bags.
Mine lasted an easy 8 months last year. I bought 50# and froze it.
Of course, I bought some fresh as soon as it was available, used both...
