Bob's Fishing Hole is back in business.
The quaint fishing facility located on western portions of the Northwest River - just off southern Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake - had been falling by the wayside the past few years. After the death of owner Dalton Waters in 2001, the family didn't do much with the property. But after teaming up with Dennis Padgett, James Waters is working to get Bob's back to its glory days."We're starting to get it back to rockin' and rollin'," Waters said. "It's still a work in progress, but we're getting there."
Waters and Padgett said they have reworked the parking lot and have dressed up the weigh station. Live bait, tackle, snacks and drinks are on sale. A section of shoreline has been cleaned up for bank fishermen. And several john boats are available for rental.
