Default 525 Mag Questions???

I found two 525 Mag for sale about 20 min from me. The guy is asking $100 each. Now I know this is 25-50 less than retail so I think its a good deal....does everyone agree? Now, with that said, what do I need to look at on them to make sure they are in good shape?

100 bucks is the going rate for those reels. As long as the spool spins they would be easily repairable if anything is wrong.

Those reels are a dream to take apart and parts are pretty cheap.

I have three of these reels and I love them!

Seems reasonable if in good shape...make sure it spins in free spool smoothly without any noise set on fast setting. I would open it up and just make sure all mags are on the slider, total of four and make sure everything looks good on the inside. Also, make sure the retrieve engages. I had one that didn't engage at times.

It's a dream to cast with. Smaller reel but more then capable of handling any large fish from the surf, with the exception of large sharks and big rays...enjoy, it's a good one.
