PENN made in China
As a new member first my greetings to all fishing guys fromGermany.
Planned to order from TackleDirect a Penn 9/0 (why to pay EUR 240,00 in Germany, when i can get it for USD 139.99 = EUR 90.00 in America). But now read in an other forum, that the new reels will be manufactured in China and they are no longer in the "Made in USA" quality! Alternative can order a Daiwa 900H. I have a 400H without any malfunctions for years in use (sufficient for cod in the North and Baltic Sea). But i need a stronger reel for my next vacation in Indonesia. What is your experience? Any valuable comments appreciated. Rgds, Wolli

Hello Wolli!
Welcome to the site! Nice that you could be here with us. I have 2 Penn 9/0 that I bought last summer and summer before. So far I can't tell the difference in quality, even after a few sand baths. Penn supposedly has a rep on site in China to approve or disapprove batches. Hopefully the quality will remain. Just have to be sure they don't use lead paint.
