Default Free Builds

Starting in June/July I'll be quite the homebody for a good number of months and I plan to occupy my time building rods. Problem is that I don't need nor can I afford to be building many rods for myself. Here is where you all come in. I've built about 10 rods to this point and would like to get around 25 before I start really charging for it.

I'm going to take 5 requests at a time and then open it back up to more once they are complete. I'll take you through the process just as if you were paying me the customary $150 to build it only without the payment. Once we pick a rod, be it a heaver, plugger, fly etc I'll work with you to price out the guides, seats, grips etc and all you will have to do it pay for the parts. A tip is appreciated but not required, it will go in my Fusion fund for next spring, already have the guides and grip...just need that $300 blank.

So hopefully 3 lots of 5 builds are coming and the first is now open. Send a PM and I'll update this thread with how many are available or taken etc. I'm going to be able to pick and choose which I do, it's free afterall. So for now one per person unless I can't get any takers . You'll need some patience but hopefully not too much...

As of now I build FISHING rods, no fancy butt wraps but I'll get there eventually and am not above trying it out if you are so inclined. Decals, decorative threads the basics, but above all else durable fishing rods that should last just about forever. Mine have been catching just fine this spring and hopefully will for the next couple weeks.

There are 4 remaining for this run, I look forward to the experience. Thanks in advance.

Guys and gals;

Get in on this one quick! I just got a nice little inshore rod from Ben, and can vouch for his quality of work and attention to detail.

By the way, Ben; I hit the bulkhead with Randy's crew on sunday and gave the new stick a couple casts....it's really sweet, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks again.

Wish I would have thought to have you toss a couple rods...it would then by your life's goal to have heavers...many many heavers.

Also just a small bit of clarification on the process. We work together to get everything picked out and priced, then you send $ and then I order the parts to my house build the rod and deliver it or ship it which ever works.

Down to 3 and working on 2 spots available for my June run. If you have questions on ballpark prices feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to give you an idea where you'll be at if you decided to do it.

Yeah - i'd really like to do that some time. I'll send you a PM soon with some of my thoughts -to get your opinions and to have better prices to present to the wife...

Bump

Last chance, will probalby order next week. Then start talking about August delivery on the next batch to be ordered in July. If you are thinking about it send me a PM and I can start answering questions, the whole process takes about a month before I send the order in unless you know exactly what you want.
