Does anyone know if any of the local tackle shops can replace a reel seat? Also i would like to have the top bar and levelwind removed on my garcia 7000. Abu garcia offered a replacement basket for this, but since has been discontinued.

send a pm to Flamethrower.....his buddy makes a conversion bar for the garcias, I bought two and they are perfect. you can't take off the top bar because you will loose stability but the levelwind comes off very easily I removed both of mine in under 20 min. including the gears in the left side of the reel housing. and unlike the replacement basket from garcia the conversion bar he makes is really inexpensive.
