Default looking for advice on how to re-grip an old pole.

I have an older 9.0 that I don't use much any more because the grips are nasty. Looking at the photos of the rod building on the forum made me wonder about regripping that rod. I looked on-line and cork tape is sold to regrip. What is there to this chore? Do I just rip of the old foam grip and clean off old glue and apply the tape like a bike grip? I assume there is a technique to get that smooth seamless look. Any tips that would help me want to go for it would be appreciated. Thanks, Pat

You could use shrink tubing for the grip. Very simple. I just did mine and all you do is apply heat, I used my stove top, and shrink the tubing around the handle.
