Default bought a new rod tonite

Well I had talked to BPS about my broken OM and they said that do to my serial number of my rod it was purchased just over a year ago and that the warranty on them is for 1 year. With that being said and them not being able to help me out with my rod, I went out to BPS and purchased a new Penn Power Stick in the 11' rated for 3-6 Oz. Has anyone used one or know someone who has a Penn Power Stick. It looked pretty compairable to the OM so I decided to give it a try...Btw its the spinning model instead of the casting due to the fact that they didnt have the OM in casting and wasnt sure how long it would take to order some into the store so i decided to give the Penn a try ( i figure their reels are some of the best in the game so why not ! )

yeah I have the same rod, not bad for the price, would like to have had more guides on it, think there are only 4 on mine.

Rock....good to see your post cause I didn't even know they still made the Power Stick. I have one. It's 11.5 ft and rated 3-6 oz although it seems plenty stiff to throw more. It is my oldest rod, I've hade it about 13 years. Never had a single problem with it. The guides have never come loose and the guide on the tip has not developed a groove. I think mine has 5 guides and the first one is large, allowing good casting distance. I have given this rod all I got casting and it has held up great. It is thicker than most of the newer, more expensive models and I wouldn't want to have to fight fish with it non-stop, all day, but matched with a decent reel, it is right at home battling big drum or stripers.
