Cool New Diawa Rod & Spinning Reel

After moving to Maryland from Florida on September of 2004 and being intruduce to surf fishing for the first time at Asseteague I have to say is different, way different ! ! ! Till now I was using my Hurricane "Redbone" 7'-6" medium action rod & Shimano "Stradic 5000" spinning reel which is great for fishing in Fla, over here in MD Asseteague only good to catch croacker, bluefish, bait and ocationally some small shark, etc... After Dave introduced me not long ago to www.DelmarvaFishing.com, after reading and seeing some of the pictures of their catch I came to the conclution of getting heavy artillery So I went and got an 11'-0" Diawa Emblem surf rod and a Diawa Emcastplus 6000 spinning reel with 30lbs braided line. I went fishing yesterday July 19th with Dave at Asseteague about a mile south of the "Bull Pin" tried out the new equipment  Yeah I do need a little practice with this, casting it is a little bit different, hey if anybody got any good tips I'm listening. Unfortunatelly yesterday there was no big shark out there I could not put the new equipment trough the test it must of been the storm well their will be another day, but for crying out loud it looks like we found the Skate ray and Atlantic mouth shark assembly line of Assateague it was one after another. But it was fun and like I said I'll be looking forwrard to latch on a good fight with a sand tiger and I will let you all know the outcome.

I just bought the same reel a week ago took me a little while to get used to it too but once you get it it's a great spinning reel.
